Wooden sunglasses are becoming increasingly popular among consumers. Eco-friendly and durable, these sunglasses areas functional as they are stylish. However, in order to get the most out of your wooden sunglasses, you need to care for them properly. Here we provide a few tips to ensure that your pair of shades will last for years to come:

Cleaning wooden sunglasses

Naturally, our sunglasses are going to get a little dirty. When we clean them, though, we have to be careful not to damage them even more. Wiping your shades with the end of your shirt may seem convenient, but it could scratch the lenses, and likely won’t remove all of the dirt or smudges.

Here are a few steps you should take to clean your wooden sunglasses properly:

  1. Using a microfiber or lint-free cloth, wipe the lenses of your sunglasses
  2. If you don’t have a lens cleaner, mix some unscented dish soap with water
  3. Spray the cleaner onto your cloth, or if you’re using dish soap, dip the cloth into the soapy water. Then wipe the lenses with the damp cloth.
  4. Using the soapy water, wipe down the frames
  5. Wipe your sunglasses with a dry towel and then let them air dry for an hour

Storage

Many people simply place their sunglasses on the table or stuff them in their purse to be forgotten. While It's quick and easy, your shades will likely get scratched or broken this way. Even just hanging them from your shirt or placing them on the top of your head can distort the shape. As such, be sure you have a case to store your sunglasses when they’re not in use.
